Armor SX5000
The Armor SX5000 is a professional-grade solvent-based silane siloxane sealer for unsealed pavers. It penetrates the pavers and chemically reacts to form a long-lasting water-repellent barrier below the surface that reduces the absorption of water and other liquids by up to 95%. The Armor SX5000 silane siloxane sealer helps to reduce damage caused by water absorption, snow and ice, and road salts.

Best Solvent-Based Silane-Siloxane Paver Sealer for Protecting Pavers Without Changing the Look or Color
The Armor SX5000 is the best sealer for your pavers if you are looking to protect your pavers without changing the look or color, and without adding a surface film or coating.
Benefits:
- Professional-Grade: The Armor SX5000 is made with high-quality US-manufactured non-recycled resins, and is designed to out-last and out-perform.
- Reduces Water Absorption By Up To 95%: The Armor SX5000 chemically reacts to form a water-repellent barrier below the surface that will reduce the absorption of water and other liquids by up to 95%.
- Won't Change The Look or Color: The Armor SX5000 is designed to protect your pavers without changing the look, color, or feel. Your pavers will look and feel exactly as it did before it was sealed!
- Long Lasting Protection: The Armor SX5000 Silane-Siloxane concrete sealer chemically reacts to form a water-repellent barrier below the surface that can last for up to 7-10 years. By reducing the absorption of water through the surface, damage caused by water absorption is also reduced. Sealed surfaces are more resistant to cracking, spalling, ice damage, salt damage, organic surface growth, and staining.
- Ready to Use: The Armor SX5000 is ready-to-use and can be applied to a properly cleaned and prepped unsealed surface with a solvent-resistant pump sprayer. One gallon covers up to 175-225 square feet per gallon. Foundation Armor cleaners and sprayers are available separately.
- Easy to Maintain: The Armor SX5000 works entirely below the surface so there is no surface film or coating to maintain. When it is time to reseal, simply apply 1-2 coats of the Armor SX5000 to a clean, dry, and absorbent surface with a pump sprayer.
- Versatile: The Armor SX5000 can be applied to a unsealed pavers, concrete, brick, and natural stone.
Application
Surface Preparation:
The Armor SX5000 should be applied to a completely clean, dry, and absorbent surface. If the surface was cleaned with water or pressure washed prior to application, allow the surface to dry for at least 24 hours before sealing. While the surface may appear dry and feel dry to touch, water below the surface trapped in the pores can cause the same issues. While pressure washing the surface is typically sufficient, spot treatment may be necessary for deep or older stains. If the surface is smooth troweled, or does not easily accept water, acid etching may be required prior to applying sealer. It is always suggested to apply the Armor SX5000 to a test area to verify absorption, coverage, compatibility, and project suitability.
The Armor SX5000 is designed specifically for unsealed concrete and masonry surfaces. Do not apply this product over a surface recently sealed with a water repellent sealer, or previously sealed with a film-forming sealer or coating.
Application:
A solvent resistant commercial pump sprayer is recommended to achieve the best coverage and results. Be sure the psi is no greater than 20. Use a .3-.5 GPM adjustable cone tip.
Apply the first coat of Armor SX5000, ensuring the entire surface is evenly saturated. Wait at least 10-15 minutes, then apply the second coat. Do not flood the surface or allow puddles to form, this will result in over application and the formation of dark spots on the surface. Less porous surfaces, such as bluestone, flagstone, and slate, may only require one coat.
Substrates sealed with Armor SX5000 may be coated with silicone emulsion paints and many oil based paints once the surface has had 72 hours to dry. Testing is always necessary and recommended to assure proper adhesion. Adhesion may be improved if the surface is pressure washed and allowed to dry prior to application. Armor SX5000 is not a paint primer. Adhesion of cementitious coatings, stucco, plaster, etc., may be adversely affected. These types of substrate treatments should be installed and allowed to fully cure before applying Armor SX5000. Always test to verify compatibility.
Time of Day
The temperature of the air and surface must be 55-85 degrees F during application. If freezing conditions exist prior to application, it is highly recommended that the substrate be allowed to fully thaw. Should this recommendation not be followed, the product may not yield adequate protective properties.
Once applied, the surface should be kept dry for at least 24 hours.
Clean-Up
Use warm water and soap. Dispose of containers in accordance with local and federal regulations.
Product Removal
Armor SX5000 penetrates deep into to the surface. Removal is not recommended.
Coverage
Porous Surfaces: Up to 175 square feet per gallon in one coat.
Smooth Surfaces (once properly prepped): Up to 200-225 square feet per gallon in one coat.
Coverage will vary depending on porosity, surface condition, application method, and the amount of material applied by the applicator. The above coverage rates are estimates and will vary. Two coats are suggested for even coverage and appearance. Please note, less porous surfaces, such as bluestone, flagstone, and slate may only require one coat.

FAQs
What is the difference between the Armor SX5000 and the Armor SX5000 WB?
The Armor SX5000 WB is water-based and the Armor SX5000 is solvent-based. Both sealers function and perform very similarly, but the Armor SX5000 WB is preferred simply because it is water-based. Water-based formulations are easy to apply, easy to clean-up, and have little to no odors.
Some customers have a preference of working with solvent-based chemicals which is why we manufacture both.
Does this leave a gloss?
No. The Armor SX5000 works entirely below the surface and won't leave a visible surface film or coating.
Is it slippery when wet?
The Armor SX5000 does not change the surface traction of the pavers because it doesn't leave a surface film or coating.
How long does it last?
The Armor SX5000 can last for up to 7-10 years before the need to recoat. It is ok to re-apply sooner so long as the pavers are able to easily accept water and water no longer beads.
How long does the bead effect last?
Surface water beading will not occur on all surfaces. While some surfaces may experience an instantaneous bead, others won’t experience a surface water bead at all. Surface water beading is not a sealer benefit. Surface water bead is caused from resin build-up on the surface. Once the resin build-up goes away, so will the bead. The Armor SX5000 is designed to work entirely below the surface so its benefits are made visible through performance. You will find sealed surfaces dry faster, are easier to clean, and experience less damage caused by freeze-thaw cycles and de-icing salts.
How many coats should I apply?
Two coats are required, but three may be necessary on overly porous surfaces.
